Today Florida Apartment Association had the pleasure of meeting with Senator Rubio to discuss a variety of important federal issues, including the need for Section 8 reform. Florida was experiencing significant housing affordability challenges before the COVID-19 pandemic and the health emergency has only made these issues more acute. The apartment industry and the Florida Apartment Association (FAA) wants to be part of the solution. The federal eviction moratorium falls short and fails to address the challenges posed by COVID-19. The only viable solution to provide housing security in the long term is through the establishment of rental assistance funds.
